The Sinai Research Associates program is a clinical research assistant program in the Emergency Departments of Mount Sinai Hospital, St. Luke's Hospital, and Roosevelt Hospital. The program consists of mostly undergraduate students interested in getting involved in the hospital as a preparation for their future careers.
The primary responsibility of academic associates is to assist ongoing research projects being conducted in the department in an effort to improve emergency care, bring greater precision to the practice of emergency medicine (EM), and improve the quality of care. Observation of emergency department procedures, resuscitations, and general care is an integrated part of the experience, and in some cases required for execution of research enrollment.
